M Week

Well that was a very fun week. On Monday/Tuesday we talked about monkeys and got to sing all our monkey songs. By now the kids know the words VERY well and are able to sing VERY loud. It was cute to hear. On Wednesday/Thursday we had show and tell and I was very impressed with all the creative things everyone brought to represent the letter M. From mermaids to money, magnets to mouse slippers, the kids thought of everything! We also learned about the phases of the moon. Several of the kids had trouble remembering 'full moon' and it was very interesting to hear what they would call it instead. At one point, I pointed to a picture of a full moon and asked a student what it was. She replied, "It's a whole moon." The little boy next to her shook his head and said, "No, teacher said that's a WOLF moon." Hehehe, so cute. Friday was all about music and after a short lesson, they got to do some dances. Two of the dances they learned were the Hockey Pokey and the Macarena. It was a hoot to watch.

The Hokey Pokey was just as much fun:
